The Keystone Blind Association’s annual Thriving With Vision Loss Expo connects students, educators, specialists, and families with the tools, resources, and knowledge to support independence and quality of life. Attendees can explore opportunities in areas such as assistive and low vision technology, computer and smart devices, medical management, daily living skills, orientation and mobility, and more, all in one accessible and informative event.

Envision will be hosting a booth to showcase adaptive equipment and share opportunities for movement and activity for individuals with visual impairments and blindness.

Envision staff is headed to Spooky Nook Rec Center in Lancaster, PA to host one of many booths highlighting adapted recreational opportunities. Attendees can stop by to learn about adaptive sports and try out hands-on sport and recreation demos. The event will showcase a variety of adaptations for both visible and invisible disabilities and Envision is excited to learn more and make new connections in the adaptive sports and recreation field.

Due to weather, paddleboarding is rescheduled to June 29th!

Practice your balance skills as we take on paddleboarding with SurfSUP Adventures this June! We’ll be launching from the McDanels Boat Launch in Moriane State Park to paddle around Lake Arthur.

We’re so excited to be teaming up with the Three Rivers Rowing Association for a day of rowing in Pittsburgh! Coaches and volunteers will teach athletes proper techniques on ERGs (rowing machines) and indoor tanks before transitioning to the river. We’ll wrap up the day with a fun cookout at the boat house for our athletes and families.

Envision Blind Sports is partnering with the Steel City Penguins Blind Ice Hockey Team to host a "try-it" ice hockey event. This will be a memorial event in honor of TJ Stewart who was a dedicated blind ice hockey player and integral part of the Steel City Penguins Team. Envision’s May Sports Clinic will include horseback riding, tandem biking, and archery. This event is open to all ages and siblings and will take place at Storm Harbor Equestrian Center in Slippery Rock, PA.

Thanks to a $30,000 grant from Hartford Insurance and Move United, Envision is able to provide teachers in our community with a mix of their very own adaptive sports equipment. A grant unveiling event will be held to present the equipment to our teachers. This event will also include a goalball and blind soccer demonstration.

Our third ski event will be held at Hidden Valley Resort in Pennsylvania. Thanks to the Vail Epic Promise Grant Envision received this year, athlete costs will be significantly reduced. The cost for Ski Session 3 will be $25. This will cover the athlete’s lift ticket, rentals, and lessons from a trained guide.

Family members and friends will still have to pay the group rate which is TBD.
